CENTRAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY KOKRAJHAR

Central Institute of Technology (CIT), Kokrajhar is situated in Kokrajhar District of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) in Assam. CIT was established on December 19, 2006 for the basic objective of fulfilling the aspirations of the Bodo People relating to their cultural identity, language, education and overall economic development of the region. The emblem of the institute has an inverted shield having a pigeon with a backdrop of a yellow sun, blue vertical lines, red vertical lines with an arch and green angular lines symbolising new aspirations and new beginnings. Above these the name of the university is written along with ‘Bodoland’ and at the bottom its motto n Sanskrit ‘असतो मा सत गमय तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ meaning ‘Lead me from unreality to reality Lead me from darkness to light’. The inverted shield is a protection from evil and the pigeon is the symbol of peace and prosperity.
