The Nainital Bank Limited was established in the year 1922 by Bharat Ratna Pt. Govind Ballabh Pant and few other prominent personalities of Nainital with the objective to cater banking needs of the people of the region. At present Bank of Baroda holds 98.57 percent share holding in Nainital Bank Limited and remaining 1.43 percent shares are held by the public. The bank’s emblem is a stylized representation of the Himalayas, with the snow-capped peaks representing the bank's strength and stability in the background and a sailboat on a Naini lake in the foreground, symbolising the bank's connection to its roots and the region it serves. The reddish brown colour of the emblem represents trust and reliability, while the white colour represents integrity and excellence. They are also a reminder of the bank's commitment to providing long-term value to its customers. The emblem has its acronym written on top and its name written at the bottom, on the circular border. In between the acronym and the name there are five circles on either side carrying 0.50, 1, 2, 5, 0.50, 1 and 2, denoting the growth of money deposited in the bank. All these are ensconced in a thick bordered circle. The simple, elegant and meaningful design of the emblem is easy to remember and identify. It is also a good reflection of the bank's commitment to providing quality service to its customers.
