Shreyarth University (SU) was established by the Shreyarth Foundation, which is managed by the family members of the leading Gujarati newspaper ‘Gujarat Samachar’ to address the gap between theoretical preaching and practical realities. The emblem of the university has a shield which has a Shankha or conch, supported by an open book with a background of a rising sun with a thick dark blue border. The shield also has a black border and is supported by a pair of laurels in greenish blue colour. Above the shield on a dark blue banner ‘Shreyarth’ is written using a bold slab serif font in capitals and below the shield on a banner ‘University’. At the bottom its motto in Sanskrit ‘श्रेयस्करं ज्ञानम्’ meaning ‘Creditable Knowledge’ is written. A shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery and conch or shankha is considered sacred in Hinduism as the emblem of Lord Vishnu and Buddhism. It is also known as ‘panchajanya’ and used for spreading the message and for invocation. Laurels are symbols of victory, achievement and are a reminder of the hard work and dedication that it takes to achieve success and the open book denotes knowledge and wisdom. The colour blue symbolises serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.

XAVIER'S COLLEGE, DUMKA (SXCD) The emblem of St. Xavier's College, Dumka (SXCD) features a shield inscribed with the motifs of ‘IHS’ monogram within a sun, a traditional lamp and an open book supported by a yellow banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘To Enlighten and To Empower’. This assemblage is ensconced by a purple circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college.
