SRI SATHYA SAI UNIVERSITY FOR HUMAN EXCELLENCE

Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence (SSSUHE) was formed vide Karnataka Act No. 17 of 2018. Its motto is ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’  – pursuit of perfection in every action as taught by the Bhagavad Gīta, which aims at encouraging young men and women to excel both in social and spiritual lives. The emblem of the university is the vibrant colours and tones of yellow, orange and red has a circle ensconced in ten overlapping and intersecting hexagons and further supported by six three layered petals of lotus. Each petal of the lotus holds a religious symbol. This arrangement is circumscribed by its name on top and by its motto in Sanskrit at the bottom. Hexagon is one of the strongest shapes and structures, which nature has conceived. This shape stirs intuition, cooperation, connection sympathy, communion and reciprocal actions. Lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty. The colour red signifies passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration; orange symbolises energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness and yellow denotes happiness, energy, vitality, focus and creativity.

These are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The mountain range and landscape reflects the mighty Shivalik hills and Himalayas that surround the Udhampur region in Jammu and Kashmir. The red sun casting radiating lines across the upper gold half of the seal represents enlightenment, dawn and the dispelling of darkness (ignorance) through education, which symbolises the institutional goal to build a vibrant, knowledge-based society.
