Chettinad Academy of Research and Education (CARE) was conferred the status of Deemed to be University in the year 2008 and since then, it has been contributing significantly to the society as an Institute for higher learning and research in the fields of medicine, allied health sciences and nursing. The logo of the academy in cyan and blue has a bold ‘C’ formed from the segment of a circle in cyan with its counter forming a square, one half of it in white and the other half in dark blue. Its name and status is written on its right side. The ‘C’ projects the protective, securing and nurturing aspects and the white and blue square signifies the opening of the door for learning and enrichment. The projection of the half of the square out of the counter denotes the learned student confidently graduating for professional service. The colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour cyan symbolises wood in the five elements, the cyan dragon - a mythical animal guarding the eastern section of the sky, representing hope and spring, peace and tranquillity, calmness and relaxation and emotional balance.
