SAGE UNIVERSITY

Sage University (SU) has been established by an Act of the State Government of Madhya Pradesh. The crest of the university is a red and gold shield, which has a motif of flame of fire supported by the acronym of its name and place. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ has been adopted from Shrimad Bhagwat Gita (Chapter 2. Verse 50), meaning ‘Yoga is Excellence at Work’ is inscribed on a golden banner, which is placed on the bottom portion of the shield. The shield symbolises protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the flame of fire represents life and energy; the stars symbolise perfect harmony among all things in life, with its points providing insight into how we can strive towards achieving this goal; the colour red means passion, power, strength, courage, determination, energy and celebration and the colour gold denotes  wealth, prosperity, power, prestige and achievement.

Mangos are the sweetest of fruits, symbolizing auspiciousness and the happy fulfillment of legitimate worldly desires. In Sanskrit the design is known as mankolam and has long been used in India. In Tamil, ‘ma’ means Mango and kolam means rangoli pattern, suggesting a possible Tamil origin for the Sanskrit word.

PARAVANI The Paravani, Mayil, Mayura or the peacock is the vahana or vehicle of the Lord Karthikeya, Murugan, Subrahmanya, Skanda, Kumara, Saravana, Arumukha, Devasenapati, Shanmukha, Kathirvela, Guha or Swaminatha. The legend has it that the demon king Surapadman, with the boon he received from the gods had become invincible. He believed that he was immortal and began tormenting all across the universe. Lord Kartikeya confronted the Surapadman and he evaded the Lord’s attacks. The demon transformed himself into a large tree near Tiruchendur. Lord Kartikeya using his Vel, the divine spear struck the tree and split Surapadman into two halves. The demon sought forgiveness from the Lord and transformed the halves into Mayil or peacock and a rooster. KAVIKULAGURU KALIDAS SANSKRIT UNIVERSITY Kavikulaguru Kalidas Sanskrit University (KKSU) was established on September 18, 1997. It is named to pay rich tribute to legendary Sanskrit Mahakavi Kalidas. The logo of university has the ‘samai’ that is the lamp in the centre symbolising that Sanskrit is like the lamp that is mild yet powerfully showing the path of knowledge though its peculiar qualities like calmness, sacredness and guiding force.
