SAI UNIVERSITY

Sai University (SaiU) is a private university, statutorily established by the Tamilnadu State Legislature vide the Sai University Act, 2018 (Act No. 42 of 2018) and as per section 2(f) of University Grants Commission (UGC) Act, New Delhi. The emblem of the university symbolises the eternal quest for knowledge that begins as a spark within and grows to become a flame. An abstract representation of a flame, the symbol is inspired by the golden ratio, giving it design balance. The colours gradually increase in intensity, signifying growth and purpose. White space in the middle signifies the light of knowledge. Length, width and depth of the lines around it signifies the three dimensional knowledge, acquired by students by the time they graduate from Sai University.

The mountains and river refer to the local topography of snow-capped peaks of the Himalayan mountain ranges; the lightning bolt symbiosis raw energy, power, enlightenment, and the sparking of knowledge; and the laurels represent a traditional laurel wreath, which symbolises academic triumph, victory and the pursuit of honour.

GOVERNMENT DEGREE COLLEGE, HIRANAGAR (GDC HIRANAGAR) The emblem of Government Degree College, Hiranagar (GDC Hiranagar) features an entrance arch with a traditional lamp supported by an open book with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ Rishi Parāśara, 1,19.41, Viṣṇu Purāṇa), which translates to  ‘Knowledge is the One That Liberates’ is written at the bottom. An image of Goddess Saraswati is placed on the right and an image of a palm tree placed on the right. All these are ensconced by red circular outlines and surmounted by the name of the college. SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
