The Global University (TGU) is established and incorporated through the Government of Arunachal Pradesh Act No. 09 of 2017. and under Section 2(f) of the University Grant Commission (UGC) Act, 1956. The emblem of the university has a blue circle with a borderline housing the motifs of an open book supporting three humans and twenty one five pointed stars. The name of the university is written below the open book. This circular seal is supported by a pair of green colour laurels and surmounted by its motto in Sanskrit ‘प्रज्ञानम् ब्रहम तेजस्वि नावधीतमस्तु’ (Rigveda, Krishna Yajurveda Taittiriya Upanishad) meaning ‘Self Luminous is That May our Intellect be Sharpened’. The open book symbolises, education, knowledge and wisdom; the humans are the beneficiaries of the university; the five-pointed stars or pentagrams (geometrically an equilateral concave decagon), is a common ideogram in modern culture symbolise and is a symbol of fame or stardom; the laurels symbolises victory, achievement and success and the colour blue denotes serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty.
