The shield houses the motifs of a cross with a bleeding heart circumscribed by ring of thorns and supporting a cross; an open book inscribed with text in Latin ‘AD Omne Opus BONUM INST-Ructi’ meaning ‘Instructed for Every Good Work’; and a white lotus. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the heart on the cross is the Heart of Jesus who was crucified; the book refers to the knowledge that the college imparts; the lotus stands for purity and integrity; the ring of thorns around the Heart tells that the Heart of Jesus loves even to the point of suffering; the colour red refers to blood; and the colour blue denotes Blessed Virgin Mary.
