The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Jayankondam (GASC Jayankondam) features the image of the temple of Jayankondacholapuram or Jayankondam or Gangaikonda Cholapuram and the King Rajendracholan and the motifs of a farmer tilling the field, an open book, a traditional lamp and a pair of laurels, ensconced by a red and blue circular border inscribed with the name of the college. On a banner placed below the seal, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘உண்மை உயர்வு உழைப்பு’ meaning ‘Truth Excellence Hard Work’ is inscribed. The name of the place is written at the bottom. The temple and the king refers to the heritage, history and divine blessings and guidance; the farmer refers to agriculture; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
