The emblem of Government Arts College, Karur (GAC Karur) features a shield housing the motifs of an open book, a swan and the image of Sree Kalyana Venkataramanaswamy Temple. The shield is supported by a blue banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘உள்ளம் உடைமை உடைமை’ (Thiruvalluvar, 592, Thirukkural)meaning ‘Inner Strength is the True Wealth’. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the swan is sacred and are symbols of grace and beauty; and the temple is an important landmark of Karur’s heritage and history.
