On a blue banner placed below the seal, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘அறிவை விரிவு செய்’ meaning ‘Expand Your Knowledge’ is inscribed. A pair of elephants stands on the edge of the banner. The gopuram refers to the more than 1200 years old Saptharishishwarar Temple, divine grace and blessings; the lotus signifies purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the stars symbolise perfect harmony among all things in life, with its points providing insight into how we can strive towards achieving this goal; and the elephants signify power, strength, unity and wisdom.

In the border at the top 'ಕಾಯಕವೇ ಕೈಲಾಸ' in Kannada  meaning ‘Work is Worship’ and at the bottom ‘JSS Maha Vidyapeetha’ are written.
