The emblem of Puratchi Thalaivar Dr. M.G.R. Government Arts and Science College, Uthiramerur (GASC Uthiramerur) features a shield inscribed with the name of the college in Tamil supported by the gopuram of the Sri Sundaravarada Perumal Temple in Uthiramerur temple, women working in a paddy field and a stone inscription of the Uthiramerur Temple inscription, which elaborates on the election system. The motto of the college in Tamil ‘கல்வி உழைப்பு மனிதநேயம்’ meaning ‘Education Labour Humanity’ is inscribed on a banner placed below the shield. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the gopuram symbolises divine blessings and guidance; the paddy field refers to agriculture and irrigation; and the inscription symbolises the history, heritage and civilization.

The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. All these are ensconced in two circular borders, of which one carries its name and place in English and the outer one carries its name and place in Devanagari supported by a pair of wheat ears. The ears of wheat signifies prosperity, food, wealth and nourishment and the colour green signifies agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.
