The logo of Bharathidasan College of Arts and Science (BCAS) features a pictorial of a shield housing the motifs of a nib of a pen, a traditional lamp, a torch with flame, a pair of keys and a crown. The shield is supported by a blue banner inscribed with the name of the college. A pair of laurels are placed on the ends of the banner. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the nib of a pen symbolises freedom, intelligence, creativity, professionalism, determination and diligence;  the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the torch is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; the pair of keys refers to the divine authority and spiritual power bestowed upon St. Peter in Christian tradition; the crown symbolises supreme authority, sovereignty, and royalty; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’.
