The circular seal of Thiagarajar School of Management (TSM) features a multipointed star housing a red shield inscribed with the motifs of an open book, a temple with gopuram, a veena and a traditional lamp’ The motto of the college in Tamil ‘’ is inscribed above the shield and its year of establishment is inscribed below. The shield is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The star symbolises divine guidance, cosmic order, balance, and spiritual journeys; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the gopuram or temple tower symbolises significant cultural and religious landmark in the region and divine guidance and blessings; the veena symbolises culture, tradition, learning and heritage; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity.

The Board has its headquarters in Pune, Maharashtra that is close to the principal grape growing and processing areas in the country. SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
