The emblem of Bharathidasan Institute of Management, Trichy (BIM) features a gearwheel housing the motifs of the Rockfort of Trichirapally, supported by a lotus and a traditional lamp. The gearwheel is ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed by the name and place of the Institute. Below the seal, the acronym ‘BIM’ and the year of establishment of the Institute are written. The Rockfort is the important icon of the city of Tiruchirapally; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the lamp symbolises purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; and the gearwheel denotes technology, engineering, interconnectedness, efficiency, precision, progress, advancement, synchronisation, timing, order and structure.
