SRI PARASAKTHI COLLEGE FOR WOMEN (SPCW)

The emblem of Sri Parasakthi College for Women (SPCW) features an image of the gopuram of Lord Kutralanathar, featuring unique Shivalingams and significant historical connections, including Sage Agastiyar. The gopuram supports a ‘Sri Yantra’, which is surmounted by the motto of the college ‘Duty and Devotion’. A ‘kuthuvilakku’ - a traditional lamp and two pairs of praying hands support the images. The name of the college surmounts the motifs and the name of the place of the college is written on a blue banner placed at the bottom. The temple gopuram refers to the blessings and divine guidance of the deity; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the praying hands denote devotion, dedication and humility. ‘Sri Yantra’ or ‘Sri Chakra’ is a ‘yantra’ formed by nine interlocking triangles that surround and radiate out from the central (‘bindu’) point, the junction point between the physical universe and its unmanifest source. It represents the goddess in her form of ‘Shri Lalitha’ or ‘Tripura Sundari’.

KARNATAKA POLICE Police in Karnataka were called by various names in different regions. After initiation of policing, they were initially called Thoti, Talwar, Umbalidhar, Kattubidi, Neeraganti etc. The police primarily with policing used to do other jobs entrusted to them. CENTRAL UNIVERSITY OF TAMILNADU The Government of India founded the Central University of Tamil Nadu (CUTN), along with eight other Central Universities, through an Act of Parliament in 2009. Its emblem is in the form of a black shield with a crest of flames in yellow and orange colours. The top portion of the shield, which is separated by a horizontal double head arrow line, has its name written in Devanagari topped by a rising sun. The portion below this is divided into three parts with a symbol of recycling materials, a graduating scholar in a halo and a stem of plant shooting from a pair of meshed gear wheels, which are supported by a pair of blue ribbons. The recycle emblem and the graduate are separated by a pair of downward flowing ribbons. Below the gear, the year of establishment of the university is written.
