The emblem of Government Arts and Science College, Idappadi (GASC Idappadi) features the motifs of the blades of a windmill, a chakra, an open book, a microscope, a pair of hoes and a pair of laurels placed within a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. Below the seal, on a blue banner, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கசடற கற்க கற்பிக்க’ meaning ‘Learn and Teach Thoroughly’ is inscribed. The windmill blades refer to environment and the local means of power generation; the chakra refers to village and village industries; the hoes refer to agriculture and farmers; the microscope refer to science; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
