Below the seal, on a blue banner, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘கசடற கற்க கற்பிக்க’ meaning ‘Learn and Teach Thoroughly’ is inscribed. The windmill blades refer to environment and the local means of power generation; the chakra refers to village and village industries; the hoes refer to agriculture and farmers; the microscope refer to science; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

The cyan, green and red emblem of the university has a plaque with rising sun above flowing waters supported by two palm trees and crested its motto in Arabic ‘طلب العلم فريضة’ meaning ‘Seeking Knowledge is an Obligation’.
