The gopuram denotes the State of Tamilnadu and its rich heritage; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the clock symbolises the passage of time, mortality, and life's fleeting nature, representing cycles of birth and death but also urgency, discipline, and the ‘now’ through their circular form and moving hands.
