THE AMERICAN COLLEGE

The emblem of The American College features a cauldron of fire supported by its motto in LatinPurificatus Non Consumptus’ meaning ‘Purified But Not Consumed’ and ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The sea is placed on a floral pattern. The emblem symbolises purification through education, as expressed by its Latin motto. The fire depicted in the centre of the emblem represents a process of refinement, similar to how fire purifies gold by burning away impurities without destroying the gold itself; and its educational philosophy signifies that students at the college undergo an academic and personal journey to emerge as better, refined individuals.
