The emblem of Government Medical College Dindigul (GMCD) features the Staff of Hermes or Staff of Caduceus with a pair of wings and entwined by a pair of serpents crested by an open book and placed on the image of the historic rock fort, the Pillow Hill, which is an important icon of the locale. The motifs are ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. Below the seal, on a green banner, the motto of the college ‘Care Comfort Cure’ is written. The staff with the snake has long been a symbol of medicine and the medical profession.
