The oval-shaped emblem of Dr. MGR Janaki College of Arts and Science for Women features a woman with books in her left hand and a torch in right hand climbing up a long staircase. The motif is  ensconced by an oval border inscribed with the name of the college and a pair of laurels. Below the seal, on a banner, the motto of the college ‘Excellence Through Diligence’ is written. The motif of a woman refers to the enlightenment, empowerment and growth of women through education and learning. The laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

VALLABHACHARYA TILAK The tilak of Vallbhacharyas is said to consist of two white lines down the forehead, forming a half-circle at its base and a white dot between them. Vallabhacharya (1479–1531 CE) was a devotional philosopher, who founded the Pushti sect in India, following the philosophy of ‘Shuddha Advaita’ (Pure Non-dualism).
