The emblem of Government Villupuram Medical College and Hospital (GVMC) features the Staff of Hermes or Staff of Caduceus with a pair of wings and entwined by a pair of serpents ensconced by a golden oval border inscribed with the motto of the college ‘Rural Health Nation’s Wealth’. Below the seal, on a golden banner the initials of the college ‘GVMC’ is written. The staff with the snake has long been a symbol of medicine and the medical profession.

The circular emblem of the university has an orange eight toothed gear wheel bearing the university’s name in Meiteilon ensconcing the motifs of a pair of gear wheels, a student with mortarboard hat and a rising sun in the background of Kanglasha - Nongsaba, i.e. half lion and half dragon.
