The emblem of Government Medical College, Tiruppur (GMCT) features the Staff of Hermes or Staff of Caduceus with a pair of wings and entwined by a pair of serpents placed on a brown circle with golden outlines. The Staff is ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the name and place of the college. The staff with snakes has long been a symbol of medicine and the medical profession. The colour brown signifies earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition; and gold signifies wealth, prosperity, power, prestige and achievement.
