National Institute of Technology Warangal (Deemed University), formerly known as Regional Engineering College, was established in 1959. Its emblem is in the form of a shield and a number of representative elements have been placed inside this. The main motif is ‘Kakatiya Thoranam’ the impressive archway of Kakatiya kingdom, which is crested by a gear wheel, stroke of lightning and a tripod. Below the motif is the motto in Sanskrit ‘कर्मणंव हि संसिद्धीहि’ meaning ‘One who Works will Succeed’. The name of the institution is written around these elements and at the bottom the name of place is written.
