NO. 11 SQUADRON
On  November 15, 1951, No.11 Squadron was formed at Barrackpore with a complement of 10 Dakota MK III And MK IV aircraft. The `One-horned Rhino' was chosen as the Squadron emblem when the Squadron moved to Jorhat in February 1961. The Squadron's motto was chosen as `Vishwambarah Prandah', meaning `Supporters of the Universe'. The Rhinoceros was chosen as it is famed for its indomitable courage, superlative strength and the ability to stand tall amidst any calamity. The famed one horned Rhinoceros has made its abode in the Kaziranga sanctuary for thousands of years now. Thus it was apt that the Rhino was chosen to represent the No.11 Squadron, as it was to become the backbone of the transport fleet of the Indian Air Force.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

ALL INDIA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES JODHPUR All India Institute of Medical Sciences Jodhpur (AIIMS Jodhpur) is one of the six new AIIMS established by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India under the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojna (PMSSY) with the aim of correcting regional imbalances in quality tertiary level healthcare in the country and attaining self sufficiency in graduate and postgraduate medical education. Its circular insignia in gold and blue has the traditional symbol of the Caduceus to represent medicine. This symbol derives from Hermes or Mercury, the winged messenger and a staff intertwined by two snakes. It is crested by its motto in Sanskrit ‘सर्वे सन्तु निरमयाः’, meaning ‘Let them all be Free of Illness’ and below this it is supported by a pair of laurels. This is ensconced by a circular border on which its name is written in Devnagari and English.
