Visvesvaraya National Institute of Technology (VNIT), Nagpur is one of the thirty National Institutes of Technology in the country. The Government of India conferred on the Institute, the Deemed to be University status (under University Grants Commission Act, 1956 (3 of 1956)) from June 26, 2002. Its circular emblem is divided into four quarters, with a torch held by a hand in the middle. The first quadrant has a pair of meshing gears, the second has a book, the third has a bridge on a river and the fourth has an electricity transmission tower. The name and place of the institute is inscribed along the border of the circle. A banner at the bottom has its motto in Sanskrit ‘योगः कर्मसु कौशलम्’ meaning ‘Yoga is Skill in Actions’ is written.

The motifs of a satellite dish antenna, a computer and a surveying tripod/ equipment referring to the study of engineering and technology are placed on each of the rings. The name of the college is placed in the middle of the assembly. MAHARAJ VINAYAK GLOBAL UNIVERSITY The red, yellow and blue circular emblem of Maharaj Vinayak Global University (MVGU) has a blue circle holding the motifs of Lord Vinayak supported by a globe of the world, its motto at the bottom and a pair of laurels on sides. The motto in Sanskrit ‘विश्वे ज्ञानज्योतिः प्रसारयेत’ means ‘Let the Light of Knowledge Spread Throughout the World’. The blue circle is ensconced by a yellow circular border, which carries its name and place divided by a Staff of Caduceus or Staff of Hermes and a torch with flame. The border has red colour spikes decorating the seal as a multi-pointed star.
