Thums Up was created in 1977, after the American company Coca Cola withdrew from India. The Chauhan brothers owned part of the Parle company and already had two other brands of soda, Limca and Gold Spot, which were popular in India at the time. In the year 1993 Coca Cola bought the Parle owned drinks Gold Spot, Limca and Thums Up. The original Thums Up logo was a red hand gesture with a slanted, white, sans-serif typeface. This would later be modified by Coca Cola with blue strokes and a more modern-looking typeface.

The circular dark blue emblem of the bank has a motif of one Rupee coin above a pair of crossed golden bars forming four quadrants in a circle. These quadrants have motifs of a milch cow; tobacco and sugarcane plant; a tractor and a gear on micro scale industry. U.P. RAJARSHI TANDON OPEN UNIVERSITY The U.P. Rajarshi Tandon Open University (UPRTOU), Allahabad, was established on March 24, 1999. It is named after Bharat Ratna Rajarshi Purusottam Das Tandon ji, an illustrious son of Mother India. Its circular logo in yellow and red has motifs of shining sun in red colour and two joyous humans holding hands and books are supported by rivers flowing from left and right. These are ensconced in a yellow border on which the name of the university and its place are written. This is placed on a red colour pedestal on which its motto in Sanskrit ‘सरस्वती नः सुभगा मयस्करतुः’ meaning ‘May Saraswati Bless us with Good Fortune’ is inscribed.
