The shield shaped emblem of Sethupathy Government Arts College, Ramanathapuram (SGACRMD) inscribed with the motifs of a ‘kuthuvilakku’ (a traditional lamp), the temple gopuram of Sri Swaminathaswami Temple and a sailboat on sea and supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘அறிவே அறுந்துணை’ and ‘Knowledge is Power’. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the temple gopuram refers to the heritage and history and divine blessings and grace; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the sailboat on sea refers to the Bay of Bengal and major employment of fishing on seas and fishermen.

RAJMATA VIJAYARAJE SCINDIA KRISHI VISHWA VIDYALAYA The Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior was established by Government of Madhya Pradesh on August 19, 2008 by bifurcating the JNKVV, Jabalpur. The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. All these are ensconced in two circular borders, of which one carries its name and place in English and the outer one carries its name and place in Devanagari supported by a pair of wheat ears. Sharma, FRS, recommended that the laboratories in Delhi, Calcutta and Hyderabad must be developed as Science and Technology institutions, functioning in an autonomous fashion. In the first phase, the three Central Forensic Science Laboratories at Calcutta, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh were restructured into six scientific division viz. Biology, Ballistics, Chemistry, Explosive, Physics and Toxicology.
