The shield shaped emblem of Sethupathy Government Arts College, Ramanathapuram (SGACRMD) inscribed with the motifs of a ‘kuthuvilakku’ (a traditional lamp), the temple gopuram of Sri Swaminathaswami Temple and a sailboat on sea and supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘அறிவே அறுந்துணை’ and ‘Knowledge is Power’. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the temple gopuram refers to the heritage and history and divine blessings and grace; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the sailboat on sea refers to the Bay of Bengal and major employment of fishing on seas and fishermen.

DIRECTORATE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE SERVICES During 1983, the then Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C) under the overall guidance of an Expert Committee chaired by Prof. M. M. The flower is placed in an orange circle and this assembly is ensconced by a yellow circular border, on which its name in Devanagari and English and its motto in Sanskrit ‘आपो ज्योति रसोऽमृतम’ meaning ‘May That Awakens Our Intelligence’ are inscribed.
