The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.

The central motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents crested with a flaming torch, supported by an open book and a pair of laurels replace the Lion Capital; and the name, place and motto of the college replace the name of the State. The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’.
