A cross crests the motifs and its initials ‘ACE’ and its year of inception support them. The assemblage is placed on a blue shield which is placed on a grey circle which is ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the name of the college. Below the seal, on a blue banner, the motto of the college ‘Educate to Edify’ is inscribed. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; the humans with mortarboard hats refer to the successful graduates; and the Cross refers to the divine grace and religious affiliation of the college.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written.
