The emblem of Anna Vinayagar College of Education (AVCE) features a shield housing a circle inscribed with an image of Lord Ganesha supported by an open book at the bottom and a pair of traditional hanging lamps on sides with the name and place of the college written along the periphery. The shield is crested by a tiara. On a banner placed below the shield the motto of the college in Tamil ‘வாய்மையே வெல்லும்’ meaning ‘Truth Alone Triumphs’ is inscribed. Lord Ganesha symbolises wisdom, prosperity, beginnings and removal of obstacles; the shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the book denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the lamps symbolise light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the tiara refers to royalty, status, power, wealth, beauty, victory and divinity.

The vignetted blue to cyan colour circular logo has a partial structure of atom on top and its acronyms in Devanagari and English. The motto of the institution is written along the circumference in Devanagari ‘राष्ट्र की सेवा में परमाणु’ meaning ‘Atoms in the Service of the Nation, above and below respectively in grey. The taglines are supported on either side by Indian National Tricolour stripes.

DIRECTORATE OF FORENSIC SCIENCE SERVICES During 1983, the then Scientific Advisory Committee to the Cabinet (SAC-C) under the overall guidance of an Expert Committee chaired by Prof. M. M. Sharma, FRS, recommended that the laboratories in Delhi, Calcutta and Hyderabad must be developed as Science and Technology institutions, functioning in an autonomous fashion. Accordingly, the Government of India declared the forensic science Institutions, as Science and Technology institutions. In the first phase, the three Central Forensic Science Laboratories at Calcutta, Hyderabad, and Chandigarh were restructured into six scientific division viz. Biology, Ballistics, Chemistry, Explosive, Physics and Toxicology.
