The motifs of an open book, a globe and a mortarboard hat are placed in the counters of the letter ‘M”. Below the letter, the tagline of the college ‘Learn Teach Excel’ is written. The lamp symbolises symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the plants refer to growth, nature and sustainability; the book refers to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the globe denotes education, knowledge, influence, timelessness, global unity and interconnectedness; and the mortarboard hat or Oxford hat denotes educational achievement, equality, tradition and rights of passage.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.

WESTERN AIR COMMAND The origin of the Western Air Command can be traced back to the nascent years of independent India, when the various formations of the Air Force were organised into two groups. On July 22, 1949 the No 1 Operational Group was re-designated as the Operational Command. The Command assumed its present name of Headquarters Western Air Command on June 10, 1963. Headquarters Western Air Command, located at Subroto Park, New Delhi, has over 200 bases placed under its command and has been involved in all major operations in India since independence. Due to its geographical location the Command has always been the hub-centre of all operational activities during any operation. Its insignia has a ‘trishul’ and an eagle in the centre of a circle which is topped by India’s national emblem. Its motto in Sanskrit ‘Akashmasthseema’ in golden border is placed at the bottom.

The logo of the Board is based on Devanagari letter ‘उ’ drawn using four swooshes, in which the cyan represents the mountains, blue represents the rivers, red represents the temples of the land and green represents the forests. The logo, as a composite, looks bright, vibrant and enthusiastic, thereby inviting tourists to this State. Below this the name of the State is written. THE TAMILNADU DR. M.G.R. MEDICAL UNIVERSITY The Tamil Nadu Medical University started functioning from July 1988. The emblem of the university symbolises various systems of medicine viz., medical, dental, Indian medicine, homoeopathy and allied health sciences. INDIAN INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY GUWAHATI Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, the sixth member of the IIT fraternity, was established in 1994. The academic programme of IIT Guwahati commenced in 1995. The motto of IIt Guwahati is ‘ज्ञान ही शक्ति है’ which means ‘Knowledge Is Power’. The emblem of IITG in Yellow ochre, red and blue  was designed by Yeshwant Chaudhary in 1994, based on the concept of sound connection between the mind, body and soul. The concept underlines the deep philosophy of cosmic beliefs in the field of yoga (a philosophy practised in India since the Vedic times). The triad connected with sound training and education creates a unified assimilation of true Indian values of education.
