The Cross symbolises divine grace and the college’s religious affiliation; the Staff of Hermes with a pair of entwined snakes and wings denotes medicine and medical profession; the satellite refers to science and technology; the candle with flame symbolises enlightenment, hope, and the human spirit, representing the triumph of light over darkness and knowledge over ignorance; and  the book  denotes knowledge, education, learning and wisdom.
