The shield is supported by a blue banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil. On the right, the name of the college is written in Tamil. The temple gopuram denotes divine grace and guidance; the moon refers to the presiding deity Sri Kanthimathi Amman of the temple; the coconut trees refer to the local produce and geography; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to education, knowledge, learning and wisdom; and the fish refer to the Kingdom of Pandyas, of which Tirunelveli was part of.
