The shield shaped emblem of Kamarajar Government Arts College, Surandai (KGAC) features the images of the gopuram of Sri Alagammai Kasi Vishwanathat temple, a traditional lamp, an open book, Courtalam waterfalls, a stream of water of Chittar river on a rocky terrain, a farmer tilling the soil, and a sunset with palmyra trees. The name of the college is written on a banner above the shield and the motto of the college in Tamil ‘உண்மை உழைப்பு உயர்வு’ meaning ‘Truth Hardwork Excellence’ is inscribed on a banner placed below the shield. The name of the place is written above the shield. The gopuram refers to heritage, history, divine guidance, and grace; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; the waterfalls and the landscape refer to the local geography and its famous places; and the farmer refers to agriculture and farming.
