The emblem of Kundavai Nachiyar Government Arts College For Women (Autonomous), Thanjavur (KGNAC) features an image of Brihadisvara Temple, called Rajarajeswaram alongwith the statue of Kundavai Nachiyar, a veena, a pair of books, a lotus and a pair of laurels surmounted by a blue banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘உள்ளத்தனையது உயர்வு’ (595, Thirukkural, Thiruvalluvar) meaning ‘A Person is As High As His Will’ and supported by the name of the college in Tamil. The temple refers to history and heritage of the locale and divine blessings and guidance; the statute is that of the sister of the builder of the temple; the veena refers to art, literature, heritage and culture; the books refer to knowledge, education, learning and wisdom; the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; and the laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication.
