On a yellow banner supporting the seal, the motto of the college in Tamil ‘நன்றின்பால் உய்ப்பது அறிவு’ (422, Thirukkural, Thiruvalluvar) meaning ‘Wisdom Restrains… (from every evil calls it back,) and guides in way of good. The lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; and the sun represents life, energy, power, positivity, illumination, light and clarity.
