The emblem of Voorhees College features an orange, white and blue striped shield inscribed with the motifs of a traditional lamp, its initials ‘VC’, a cross and a lotus on water. The shield is supported by an orange banner inscribed with the motto of the college ‘In Vain Without God’. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamp  symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the cross refers to Christianity and the college’s religious affiliation; and the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty.

RAJENDRA INSTITUTE OF MEDICAL SCIENCES (RIMS) The emblem of Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) is directly adapted from the State Emblem of the State of Jharkhand. The central motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents crested with a flaming torch, supported by an open book and a pair of laurels replace the Lion Capital; and the name, place and motto of the college replace the name of the State. The motto of the college in Sanskrit is ‘विद्यया विन्दते अमृतम्’ (Mantra 2.4, Kenopanishad), which translates to ‘Immortality Through Knowledge’. The Staff of Caduceus symbolises medicine and medical profession; the book symbolises the accumulation and dissemination of medical knowledge and the academic foundation of the institution; the torch with flame is an emblem of enlightenment, hope, life, truth and the regenerative power; and the laurels are symbols, which represent victory, honour and academic excellence.

SHEIKH BHIKHARI MEDICAL COLLEGE (SBMC) (HAZARIBAG MEDICAL COLLEGE) The emblem of Sheikh Bhikhari Medical College (SBMC) (Hazaribag Medical College) features a shield inscribed with the motifs of the winged Staff of Caduceus entwined by a pair of serpents, a mortarboard hat supported by laurels, a stethoscope supported by a laurels and an open book. The earlier version of the emblem of the State of Jharkhand is cresting the staff. The initials and place of the college surmount the motifs. The motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘आरोग्यं परमं भाग्यं’, which translates to ‘Good Health is the Greatest Fortune’ is written on a blue banner placed below the shield. MAULANA AZAD NATIONAL URDU UNIVERSITY Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University established by an Act of Parliament in 1998. The logo of the university has two strokes of orange and green forming the shape of ‘U’ in tricolour and has a ‘Ashoka Chakra’ at its top. This is supported by an open book on which images of an atom and a burning candle are depicted. Its name is written in Urdu atop the emblem on a banner; written in Devanagari on a banner above the logo and in English at its bottom. The book represents knowledge and education; the atom denotes science and the candle denotes light and guidance to discover the unknown.

GOVERNMENT POLYTECHNIC, KHARSAWAN (GP KHARSAWAN) The emblem of Government Polytechnic, Kharsawan (GP Kharsawan) features a shield inscribed with the motifs of a set of electrical transmission towers with lines, a diagram of an atom, a dish antenna and a computer. The shield is surmounted by a banner inscribed with the name and place of the college and supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Sanskrit ‘विद्या ददाति विनयात् श्रेयस्’ (Narayan Pandit, 6, Hitopadesha) meaning ‘Education Makes one Humble’. This visually represents the core technical branches taught at the polytechnic level, such as Electronics, Telecommunication and architectural drafting. The motifs of a draftsman's T-square and a winged arrow in the seal refer to structural design, craftsmanship and vocational specialisation; and symbolises progression, upward mobility and the ambition of women breaking barriers in science, technology, engineering and mathematics. THE PARACHUTE REGIMENT The first Indian airborne formation was the 50 Independent Parachute Brigade raised on October 29, 1941 with 151 British, 152 Indian and 153 Gurkha Parachute Battalions and other support units. The Indian Parachute Regiment was established on March 1, 1945, as the regiment to which is Indian and Gurkha parachute battalions would belong. 152nd Indian Parachute Bn was split to form the 1st Parachute Bn consisting of Hindu troops and the Muslims troops forming the 4th Para Bn, while 153rd and 154th Gurkha Para Bns being renamed the 2nd and 3rd Battalions respectively. Four independent parachute companies were also raised to complete the regiment, one each as a defence company for the divisional HQ and the brigade HQs and named thus. Its Regimental Centre is Bangalore with the training establishment at Agra. Regimental insignia is an open parachute with wings spread out and a dagger placed upright, between the wingsand its motto is ‘Shatrujeet’ (The Conqueror).
