The emblem of ANR Arts and Science College (ANRCAS) features a portrait of the founder  Shri A. N. Radhakrishnan, ensconced by a circular cyan floral border inscribed with the name of the college. The seal is supported by a pair of golden laurels and its year of inception. The laurels are symbols of ceremonies, victory, achievement, hard work and dedication; and the colour cyan is a relaxing and inspiring colour that evokes images of crystal waters and is normally associated with liveliness, tranquillity, youth and energy.

SAMBALPUR UNIVERSITY The Sambalpur University Act was passed by the Odisha Legislature on December 10, 1966 and the University started functioning from January 1, 1967. The university was inaugurated on January 4, 1967. In 1973 the University was shifted to the present campus named Jyoti Vihar at Burla. The emblem of the university has the motifs of gear wheels, chimney and electric transmission tower representing industry; plough representing agriculture; deer representing the local wildlife; an open book denoting knowledge and wisdom; a torch symbolising light, truth and power; the Wheel of Konark symbolising Odisha’s culture and history and river symbolising Mahanadi. All these are ensconced by a circular border and along the border the name of the university is written. The motto of the university in Sanskrit ‘विद्यया विन्दतेऽमृतम्’ (Verse 4 II, Kena Upanishad) meaning ‘By Self-knowledge Immortality is Attained’ is written at the bottom of the emblem.
