The emblem of AIMAN College of Arts & Science for Women (ACASW) features a monogram of ‘AIMAN’ shaped as a dome and minaret placed within a green crescent and ensconced by a circular border inscribed with the motto of the college in Arabic ‘حكما رب هب’ meaning ‘O My Lord Bestow Wisdom on Me’. These are placed in a green circle inscribed with the name and place of the college. The colour green and the motifs refer to Islamic orientation of the college.

MAULANA AZAD NATIONAL URDU UNIVERSITY Maulana Azad National Urdu University (MANUU) is a Central University established by an Act of Parliament in 1998. The circular emblem of the university has an open book supporting a lotus with a background of mountains and surmounted by atomic structure. These are ensconced by a yellow circular border which carries its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ on one side and its name in Kashmiri on the other side. The motto is written in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’.
