Below the seal on a banner the motto of the college in Tamil ‘மெய்ப்பொருள் காண்பதறிவு’ (Thiruvalluvar, 423, Thirukkural) meaning ‘Knowledge is Seeing the True Meaning of Anything’. The temple gopuram refers to the heritage and history and divine blessings and grace; the palmleaf manuscripts refer to tradition, to education, knowledge, learning and wisdom; the veena refers to arts, culture, heritage and history; and the lotus purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty.

JSS SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY UNIVERSITY The emblem of JSS Science and Technology University (JSSSTU) features the picture of Sri Adi Jagadguru Bagavatpada, which is ensconced in the letter ‘ॐ’ drawn as a border. In the border at the top 'ಕಾಯಕವೇ ಕೈಲಾಸ' in Kannada  meaning ‘Work is Worship’ and at the bottom ‘JSS Maha Vidyapeetha’ are written.
