The circular predominantly green emblem of Chaudhary Sarwan Kumar Himachal Pradesh Krishi Vishvavidyalaya (CSKHPKV) has a motif of an apple holding the motifs of a pair of plough, head of a cattle, a flowing river, a pine tree, Mount Himalayas with rising sun, a pair of supporting crests of wheat and its name  on a green circular background. Below these, an open book is placed on which its motto is written oa brown banner. Below the spine of the book the year of inception of the university is written. The motifs represent the State of Himachal Pradesh and the domain of agriculture; the open book denotes education, knowledge, learning and wisdom; the colour green denotes agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.

The gearwheel is ensconced by a circular border with brown outlines inscribed with the name and place of the college. The seal is supported by a pair of laurels. The motto is written in Sanskrit which is an extract from the Kathopanishad ‘विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते’, (Shloka 11, Ishopanishad) meaning ‘Immortality is Gained from Learning’. UNIVERSITY OF JAMMU The University of Jammu (UoJ) came into existence in 1969 through the Kashmir and Jammu Universities Act 1969 following bifurcation of the erstwhile University of Jammu and Kashmir. The circular emblem of the university has an open book supporting a lotus with a background of mountains and surmounted by atomic structure.
