THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING

The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) was established in the year 1946. NIE is a grant-in-aid institution and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Its emblem is a blue Mediaeval knight shield which holds three stars, a red gear wheel, a structural bridge and a power grid inside the gear wheel and its acronym. The stars represent its elite status, the gear wheel, bridge and power grid represent the fields of engineering taught here. The shield represents safety, security, reliability and assurance to the students.

No. 15 Squadron NO 15 SQUADRON The No. 15 Squadron of Indian Air Force was formed on August 2, 1951 at Ambala. In 1983, the ‘Flying Lances’ were the first MiG-21 Bis squadron in the Air Force to be modified for the Matra Magic R55, air to air missiles. The squadron was again number plated in 2009 and re-raised in 2012 on the Su-30 at Sirsa AFS. The No. 15 Squadron’s motto is ‘Nihantavya Shatava’ meaning ‘Annihilate the Enemy’. This Squadron is also called ‘Flying Lances’. Its insignia has a flying lancer in the centre with a ball of fire background. It currently operates the Mikoyan MiG-21 from Jodhpur.

14 CORPS The 14 Corps of the Indian Army is a part of the Army’s Udhampur-based Northern Command. It was raised after the Kargil War in 1999, to control troops in Ladakh. It currently consists of 3rd Infantry Division. The division was created in October 1962 in Ladakh. It fought in the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. Until 1990, it was headquartered at Kohima under III Corps. It is headquartered at Kumbathang, near Kargil. The sleeve patch of this Corps is red horizontal striped patch intersected with a white stripe in the background with two crossed torches (Vajra) with trident at their ends and wand in the foreground.

BISWA BANGLA BISWABIDYALAY Biswa Bangla Biswabidyalay (BBB) was established in 2020 as a liberal arts university in Bolpur, West Bengal. This university is also known as Bolpur University or Biswa Bangla University. The emblem of the university has an open book with its acronym in Bengali written on it and crested by a blue circle depicting a human being and supported by the nib of a pen. All these are ensconced by a green circular border which carries its motto in Bengali ‘তামসো মা জ্যোতির্গময়ঃ’ (Yajnavalkya,1.3.28, Pavamana Mantra, Brihadaranyaka Upanishad) meaning ‘From Darkness Lead me to Light’ and its year of establishment. These are circumscribed by its name in Bengali and English in blue colour.

MAA SHAKTI YOG The circular motif of Maa Shakti Yog in greeny blue, black and grey has the motif of a yogi placed on a black mountainous ground and greeny blue sky. This circular motif has a white outline, which is ensconced by a six petalled black lotus. On the petals ‘Learn the Art of Experiencing’ and its name are inscribed. These are further circumscribed by a thick grey circular outline with four dots in four directions. The lotus refers to purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty; the colour greeny blue denotes cool, calmness and peace and black denotes mystery, power, elegance and sophistication.
