THE NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF ENGINEERING

The National Institute of Engineering (NIE) was established in the year 1946. NIE is a grant-in-aid institution and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), New Delhi. Its emblem is a blue Mediaeval knight shield which holds three stars, a red gear wheel, a structural bridge and a power grid inside the gear wheel and its acronym. The stars represent its elite status, the gear wheel, bridge and power grid represent the fields of engineering taught here. The shield represents safety, security, reliability and assurance to the students.
