Dr. Rajendra Prasad Central Agricultural University (RPCAU), Pusa came into existence on October 7,2016 after the conversion of Rajendra Agricultural University, Pusa, a State agricultural university, which was established in 1970 by Government of Bihar. Its circular emblem has a gear wheel holding an inner wheel - a circular agricultural implement, its motto in Sanskrit ‘तमसो मा ज्योतिर्गमय’ meaning from ‘Darkness to Light’, a pillar with flame, a stem of cereal, a cattle, a stupa and remnants of Nalanda. Each of these elements represents Bihar and agriculture and allied activities. Below this on a banner the university’s name is written in Devanagari.
