TILAK MAHARASHTRA VIDYAPEETH


The Maharashtra Provincial Conference on May 6, 1921 under the presidentship of Shrimat Shankaracharya of Karveer Peeth decided to have a national university in Maharashtra and the Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth (TMV) was established. The emblem of the university has a portrait of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak ensconced by a yellow border bearing the name of the university and its place. These are further supported by a pair of lions on either side and by a banner bearing its motto in Sanskrit ‘विद्या बोधकरी यशःसुखकरी विद्या गुरुणाम गुरुः’ meaning ‘Knowledge Enlightens, Fame brings Happiness and Knowledge is the Teacher of the Teachers’ at the bottom. The year of its establishment is written below the banner. Lions symbolise strength, courage, nobility and leadership; yellow denotes happiness, joy, creativity and focus and blue denotes trust, security and stability.

The institute was accorded the status of a university under Gujarat State Act No. 8 of 2009. The emblem of the university has a pictorial and a wordmark. The pictorial has the letter ‘C’ written stylistically holding an orange dot in its counter and it is supported by a pair of white swooshes on a blue quadrilateral. On its right its acronym is written in blue serif typeface and its name is written below that. The colour blue signifies serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour orange signifies energy, vitality, creativity, inspiration, joy and happiness.

DRAVIDIAN UNIVERSITY The Dravidian family of languages, which includes more than twenty seven tongues, is the most ancient living language family of the world. The Government of Andhra Pradesh established the Dravidian University in 1997 at the tri-lingual junction, Kuppam in Chittoor District through a Legislature Act of Andhra Pradesh and conceived as an interstate institution. Bulandshahar (DCB Bulandshahar) features a motif of handshake placed in a blue circle with a circular border inscribed with its name and place in Devanagari. SHARNBASVA UNIVERSITY Sharnbasva University (SU) in Kalaburagi, Karnataka is the first private university to be established in the Kalyana-Karnataka region in 2017. The red and green emblem of the university images of the Sharnabasava supported by banners with slogans in Kannada above and below. Around this motif within a white border with green ring the name of the university is written in Kannada and English and at the bottom ‘Teacher and the Disciple’ is written in Kannada and English.
