The emblem of Arignar Anna Government Arts College, Cheyyar (AAGACC) features a shield housing the motifs of a ‘kuthuvilakku’ (the traditional lamp).a handloom and a weaver and an image of Sri Vedhapureeswarar Temple, Cheyyar. The shield is supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘அறிவுடையார் எல்லாம் உடையார்’ (330, Thirukkural, Thiruvalluvar) meaning ‘Those Who possess Wisdom Possess Everything’ and a pair of elephants. The name of the college in Tamil is written on a banner surmounting the shield. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamp symbolises symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the handloom and the weaver refer to the major occupation of the region; and the temple is the historical heritage of the place and the elephants signify power, strength, unity and wisdom.

RAJMATA VIJAYARAJE SCINDIA KRISHI VISHWA VIDYALAYA The Rajmata Vijayaraje Scindia Krishi Vishwavidyalaya, Gwalior was established by Government of Madhya Pradesh on August 19, 2008 by bifurcating the JNKVV, Jabalpur. The green toned circular emblem of the university has a motif of a farmer tilling the soil using cattle and plough placed over an open book signifying the knowledge, wisdom and education of agriculture. Below this its motto in Sanskrit ‘कृषि मूलम् जगत् सर्वम्’ meaning ‘Agriculture is the Root of the World’ is written. All these are ensconced in two circular borders, of which one carries its name and place in English and the outer one carries its name and place in Devanagari supported by a pair of wheat ears. The ears of wheat signifies prosperity, food, wealth and nourishment and the colour green signifies agriculture, nature, growth, balance, harmony, environment, prosperity, vitality, prestige, wealth and being very down to earth.
