The emblem of Arignar Anna Government Arts College, Cheyyar (AAGACC) features a shield housing the motifs of a ‘kuthuvilakku’ (the traditional lamp).a handloom and a weaver and an image of Sri Vedhapureeswarar Temple, Cheyyar. The shield is supported by a banner inscribed with the motto of the college in Tamil ‘அறிவுடையார் எல்லாம் உடையார்’ (Thiruvalluvar, 330, Thirukkutal) meaning ‘Those Who possess Wisdom Possess Everything’ and a pair of elephants. The name of the college in Tamil is written on a banner surmounting the shield. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the lamp symbolises symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the handloom and the weaver refer to the major occupation of the region; and the temple is the historical heritage of the place and the elephants signify power, strength, unity and wisdom.

KARNATAKA POLICE Police in Karnataka were called by various names in different regions. After initiation of policing, they were initially called Thoti, Talwar, Umbalidhar, Kattubidi, Neeraganti etc. The police primarily with policing used to do other jobs entrusted to them.
