The emblem of Arignar Anna Government Arts College, Attur (AAGAC Attur) features an image of Vadachennimalai Sri Balasubramaniya Swami Temple, which is an important historical landmark and heritage of Athur and the motifs of ink and quillpen, a ‘kuthuvilakku’ (a traditional lamp), an open book and a lotus placed in a shield supported by a red banner inscribed with the motto of the college. All these are ensconced by a blue circular border inscribed with the name of the college. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; the quillpen and ink refers to reading and writing; the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity; the book refers to learning, education, knowledge and wisdom; and the lotus denotes purity, enlightenment, rebirth, transformation, personal growth, resilience, overcoming obstacles and divine beauty.
