The seal of Maharaja Chhatrasal Bundelkhand University (MCBU) in the tones of brown has a dark brown border and a banner. The border ensconces the portrait of King Chhatrashal in front of his fort.The brown border is inscribed with its name in Devanagri and supported by a pair of six gemstones. The banner carries the motto in Sanskrit ‘सा विद्या या विमुक्तये’ (Rishi Parāśara, 1,19.41, Viṣṇu Purāṇa) meaning ‘Knowledge  is one that Liberates’. Below the banner  the name of its place is written. The colour brown signifies the earthiness, simplicity, stability, humility, warmth, reliability, endurance, timelessness and tradition.
