WOMEN'S CHRISTIAN COLLEGE (WCC)

The emblem of Women's Christian College (WCC) features a shield housing the motifs of two sunflowers with a pair buds, a traditional lamp and its motto ‘Lighted to Lighten’ with the year of inception of the college written below the shield. The name of the college is written in old style text on the right. The shield denotes protection, courage, heritage, authority and bravery; and the lamp symbolises light, illumination, awakening, devotion, purity, guidance, protection, hope and prosperity. The sunflowers symbolise happiness, adoration, loyalty, and longevity, stemming from their habit of turning to follow the sun. They represent positivity, warmth, and spiritual guidance, signifying resilience and strength as they grow tall and face light even in adversity. Across cultures, they've also meant harvest, prosperity, and even served as religious symbols for sun gods.

The university's mission is to inculcate the essence of the Sanskrit Shloka ‘पदं हि सर्वत्र गुणैर्निधीयते’ meaning ‘Good Qualities Put their Footprints Everywhere’. The logo of the university has a blue and green abstract pictorial of ‘U’ and on its right a wordmark of its name in capitals thin serif letters with smooth transition of strokes. The colour blue represents serenity, calmness, trust, spirituality, calmness, wisdom, freedom, openness, intelligence and loyalty and the colour green denotes life, production, fertility, agriculture, environment and nature. The logo is modern, trendy and attractive.
